Finding the right size for your fur babies.

Please note that this is a general guideline. Individual cats may vary in size and shape, and therefore, the recommended size may not always be a perfect fit for every cat.

You can purchase these right at our store and inquire about sizing if you are unsure. You can also have them fitted by one of our feline professionals.

Extra Small
4-6 months old

On average, Fab Kitty Paws will fit most kittens by the time they reach the age of 16 weeks (4 months).

Small
Approx. 6 months old
Approx. 6-8 lbs.

Small will generally fit cats that are approximately 6-8 pounds.

Medium
Approx. 9-13 lbs.

Most adult average size cats wear medium.

Large
Approx. 14 lbs. +

Very large-boned and large-breed cats wear large. This size would be suitable for Maine Coons, for example.

What are Fab Kitty Paws?

Fab Kitty Paws are a great alternative to declawing a cat and preventing damage to furniture. They are a harmless vinyl resin cap that is applied over the cats nails with a non-toxic adhesive (Cyanoacrylate adhesive - aka. super glue).

Are Fab Kitty Paws safe for my cat?

Fab Kitty Paws are completely safe for cats. They will not effect the extension and retraction of their claws (as long as you don't over fill with glue when applying and follow our application steps)

What age group of cats can I use Fab Kitty Paws on?

Fab Kitty Paws are safe for cats from the age of 16 weeks and up.

Can Fab Kitty Paws be used on front and hind claws?

Most owners apply Fab Kitty Paws only to the front claws to prevent damage to their furnishings, so it isn't necessary to apply them to their hind claws. However, the nail caps can be used on the hind claws if desired, and there are a couple of situations when it might be a good idea such as preventing damage from cats jumping off furniture when their nails dig in. Additionally, many people have used Fab Kitty Paws on the hind claws of cats that have skin problems and scratch themselves excessively. The nail caps help decrease or prevent self-inflicted damage in these instances. We recommend small size Fab Kitty Paws as the hind nails tend not to curl.

Are Fab Kitty Paws good for indoor & outdoor cats?

Fab Kitty Paws are meant mainly for indoor cats, as they blunt their nails.

How long do Fab Kitty Paws stay on my cats nails?

Each application can last up to 4-6 weeks or longer when applied properly, at which time they should fall off with the natural shedding of your cat's nails. They need to be removed or replaced at 8-9 weeks

Can I put Fab Kitty Paws on by myself?

Absolutely. Most people apply the nail caps themselves. Some enlist the help of a friend or family member. This is a good idea at first if you are not used to handling your cat alone.
If you can trim your cat's claws, you can apply the nail caps.
Sometimes it helps to place your cat in your lap, facing away from you, so he or she can't back up. Some cats don't mind being wrapped in a towel so you can remove one paw at a time to apply the nail caps. If your cat gets aggressive you may need to visit your vet or groomer to have them applied.

Why don't you sell nail caps for dogs?

We are feline exclusive, and I trust in this product myself as I use them on my clients. However, you can order nail caps for your dogs through email only. I do not carry them in stock, so delivery time is 6-8 weeks. Please email me if your interested in ordering and I will provide available colors, sizes & prices.
